GALLAGHER RE-ELECTED BY LARGEST MARGIN OF VICTORY IN HISTORY OF EIGHTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

“America needs a massive dose of Wisconsin common sense to cure the nonsense coming out of Washington DC.”

GREEN BAY, WI – Congressman Mike Gallagher was elected to represent Wisconsin’s Eighth Congressional District for a fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Gallagher, a Green Bay native and Marine Corps veteran, garnered more than 70% of the vote and won by nearly 60%, which is the largest margin of victory in the history of the Eighth Congressional District, and won all 11 counties in the district.

After securing re-election, Congressman Gallagher released the following statement.

“Faced with rising inflation, skyrocketing crime, and plummeting education scores, America needs a massive dose of Wisconsin common sense to cure the nonsense coming out of Washington DC. Tonight, the American people have given us a chance to change course and it’s time to get to work.

“I am honored and humbled by the trust Northeast Wisconsin has placed in me to serve another term. I have always said I will treat each term as a deployment, and over the next two years, I promise to fight for freedom, seek principled solutions to the problems we face, and ensure that Northeast Wisconsin remains the best place in the country to live and raise a family.

“On Wisconsin, and God Bless America.”

Tonight’s victory represents the fourth time Gallagher won by a margin of more than 25%. In 2020, Gallagher defeated Democratic Assemblywoman Amanda Stuck by 28%. In doing so, he received nearly 270,000 votes — the most in the history of the 8th Congressional District — and secured a third term with a victory of 64%-36%. In 2016, Gallagher won by 26% over Tom Nelson. In 2018, he won re-election by 27% in 2018 over Democrat attorney Beau Liegeois.

Gallagher and his wife Anne reside in Green Bay, Wisconsin with their daughters Grace and Rose.
